MV17/ 47D French, circa 1920s 15.5″ viola. Unlabelled, but typical of the  Medio-Fino model from Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy – J.T.L. Mirecourt workshops. With Wittner Finetune pegs, Wittner tailpiece and Thomastik Dominant strings.

One piece back of medium to broad grain maple. Plain maple ribs of medium maple. Neck and scroll of fine grain plain ample. One-piece front  of narrow to medium grain spruce.  Cherry red spirit varnish.
