John Langstaffe has been a full time professional violin maker since graduating with distinction from the internationally renowned Newark School of Violin Making in 1989. His instruments are played in many orchestras, both professional and amateur, and have also been used extensively in chamber ensembles and as solo instruments.

Labelled ‘ John Langstaffe maker Leominster 2009’. This well crafted viola is finished in a chestnut brown varnish. The front is of spruce which is of narrow, medium grain. The two-piece back is of medium flamed maple which matches the ribs, neck and scroll.

Furnished with rosewood pegs and tailpiece whilst the chinrest is of boxwood. Set up with Pirastro, Evah Pirazzi strings.
